Ever since I read Becky Wade’s Run the World the Houston Marathon has been a bucket list marathon for me.
A flat, fast course will always have appeal to any marathon runner and Houston fits that bill. I mean, look at this elevation chart. #Magical
Plus, throw in the fact that Houston ALWAYS has an elite field, and you’ve got some amazing speed. Not that I’d be keeping up with those runners. But to give you a taste of that, Molly Huddle broke the American record in the Half at Houston earlier this year.
And did we mention winter in Texas? That’s like fall in the Midwest. Cool, crisp temperature (hopefully) for running a marathon.
Some of you might remember that I journeyed to Ft Worth back in February to run the Cowtown. I loved that visit to Texas, and am excited to make a return visit in the depths of Midwest winter in early 2019!
