When I was in high school, there was a kid who we ran against in track and cross country who ALWAYS wore sunglasses. Seriously, I don’t think I ever saw him without them on. Ever. Our team was not amused.
Fast forward to the present day, and I’m the one almost always wearing sunglasses. Running, driving, walking to get coffee, you name it.
I’m always looking for fashionable, useful, and cost effective sunglasses. Shady Rays meet almost all of those criteria!
The very first thing I noticed when I put my new pair of Shady Rays on was the vision. No weird color tints. My world doesn’t look blue, orange, or red when I wear these; it just looks normal. Because of this, I can actually see my phone screen easily while I have these on. Priorities, I know.
That paragraph alone basically sums up how they are as a lifestyle brand. Very, very good.
But how would they stack up while running?
Answer: Also very good.
The sunglasses fit my head like a glove. I’ve been told (more often than you’d think) that I have a smaller head. Does this factor into the fit for me? Maybe. I have nothing to compare it to.
More importantly, there’s no bounce whatsoever. I’ve run both road and trails with these with no problems. Obviously, roads are easy, but on trails I can easily see everything on the ground (roots, rocks, etc) even under tree cover and in the shade.
To be honest, I’ve worn these way way way more than I thought I would. I’m actually wearing them while typing this in the back seat of a car. #Efficiency
My only negative, and this is a minor one, is when I dropped them on the floor in my apartments lobby, the lens got a little scuffed up. I thought that was a little too early for them to get dinged by one drop. But then the other day I dropped them (I can be clumsy if you can’t tell) in the parking lot and they were completely fine.
These puppies run for $45 on the Shady Rays website, and if you use the code BIBRAVE, you’ll get 50% off when you buy two pairs. #Boom
