Winter in the Midwest is something else. From a snowstorm on Thanksgiving to an air temperature of 13 degrees this morning; we runners have to be prepared for chilling weather.

Fortunately, I was given the opportunity to add to my winter gear collection by testing the Buff DryFlx neck warmer (and matching hat). And guys, this neckwarmer has already become a staple in my winter weather gear.

I know a variety of both Buff products and buff-like products. They’re amazing for cool days, where a hat is too warm, and for stupid cold days where layers are key. One problem I’ve had in the past, though, is my buff and hat sometimes freezing to my face. That’s about as unpleasant as it sounds.

Not the case with this neckwarmer! I got my first frost covered hat run done this past Saturday. And by frost covered, I mean I had actual ice on my hat. But the Buff DlyFlx? It was just as fine as when I started running…just a little sweatier.

This from Buff’s website:

“Thanks to its 360º reflective design, this tech neckwarmer is perfect to enjoy night or early morning outdoor action in the city with improved security. Extremely breathable and stretchable, it provides quick drying and extra warmth.Ultralight and seamless tubular created for running and high intensity activities. Designed in a unique shape to offer an optimal adjustment in nose area and 360º reflective to make it perfect on night and early morning runs with improved security. Extremely breathable and stretchable, it provides quick drying and extra warmth. Design: Reflective. Size: One Size. Designed for adults.”

I can vouch for all of this. Plus, the reflective aspects are a nice bonus for someone who doesn’t do reflective gear/safety that well.

We’re only getting into the start of winter, and I know colder runs await. But now I’ve got a new weapon to combat the cold in the Buff DryFlx neckwarmer!

Do yourself a favor and buy one of these bad boys for yourself…or your crazy cold weather running friend!

Yeah, I can’t imagine my hat freezing to me. Looks like the Dryflx solved that problem though!
