After NYC in November, my race schedule was looking fairly bleak for this Spring. As in, I just have the upcoming Pettit Half, and the Music City Trail Ultra. Slowly, though, I’m starting to fill in that schedule.
I’m happy to say that I’ll be running the streets of Chicago again this March at the Shamrock Shuffle!
Much like last year, it’s going to be the week following the Music City Trail Ultra, so who knows how it will go. Last year, I surprised myself by running close to my 8k PR on accident, but that was also after a DNF at MCTU and a week off of running.
But why am I excited? For starters, I do like this event a lot. Very well organized and a great tune-up if you’re signed up for Chicago in October. Plus the swag is AWESOME. You’ve got your standard race shirt (last year’s was one of my favorite) plus something else. In 2018 it was socks, so we’ll see this year.
Throw in a medal, a beer, and hot chocolate from Advocate Health Care, and your gear check bag becomes a swag bag.
It’s still a ways away, but I’m excited to get back out at Shamrock. Will I see you out there?
